Boy with clovers

An iconic example of Jasper Abels’ early collage style, where delicate four-leaf clovers are placed directly onto the silhouette of the subject. Symbolising luck, prosperity and beauty, the work became an important expression of Jasper’s visual language and has since inspired illustrators and painters who have used the image as a starting point for their own work.
